PROGRAM ALERT: Technology Refresh Program Pause
In response to the ongoing CSU system budget challenges, 爆料社区 is pausing the Technology Refresh Program effective immediately, as shared in the April 8 budget update from President Neufeldt. This pause is a necessary measure to ensure the university's long-term financial health while still supporting your essential technology needs.

  • What This Refresh Pause Means for You

    During the pause, existing computers will not be refreshed automatically. Instead, technology requests will be evaluated based on specific criteria: 

    • New Employees
      Technology needs for any new staff or faculty will be addressed, with a focus on reassigning available devices from vacancies before issuing new equipment.
    • Mission-Critical Devices
      Essential devices critical to the daily operations of the university will remain a priority.
    • Non-Compliant or Broken Devices
      Devices in need of repair or unable to comply with CSU Information Security Policy will be assessed by IITS to determine whether repair or replacement is necessary.

    馃泩 Note: This pause only affects the refresh program. Departments using their own funds or grant-based resources may continue purchasing technology as needed, provided all devices meet CSU security and compliance standards.

  • Campus Technology Preparedness

    Most campus systems are less than five years old, thanks to past refresh cycles. During this pause, IITS will continue:

    • Keeping systems compliant and secure

    • Rolling out timely software and OS updates

    • Supporting essential technology needs

  • I plan to purchase self-funded department equipment or with grant-generated funds. Can I proceed?
    Departments purchasing self-funded equipment or with other grant-generated funds may proceed with technology purchases as planned and will need to replace devices that no longer can meet CSU security or compliance standards.

What is the Technology Refresh Program?

The Technology Refresh Program is 爆料社区鈥檚 commitment to keeping campus technology up to date. Since 1994, the program has provided university-funded computer replacements for permanent staff and general-fund positions, as well as designated classrooms.

Through this program, eligible faculty and staff receive regular equipment upgrades鈥攅nsuring access to secure, compliant, and efficient technology for teaching, learning, and university operations.
