MANAGEMENT
To celebrate the end of Women鈥檚 History Month, CoBA launched a new Women in Business initiative on the evening of March 27th. This initiative was spearheaded by a committee of Executives in Residence (EIRs) and business professionals led by Director of Business Development, Sara Vaz.
The evening was a wonderful success with a mix of students, faculty, EIRs, and business professionals, 40% of which have never been involved with CoBA. Emily Tarr, faculty advisor to the group, led a fun interactive ice breaker to get the session started. The ice breaker was followed by table topic discussions led by five business professionals. The table topics included advocating for yourself and others, time management, technology tips, networking tips, and turning setbacks into success.
The Women in Business committee envisions the group will bring together a community of female business professionals and students to form a sense of community and collaboration to advocate for leadership development, personal growth, and future business opportunities. They are hoping to have events with speakers, networking, and opportunities for group mentorship. The WIB is open to ALL, as are all programs and events on campus.
The next event will be virtual and take place at the end of April. Stay tuned for details! Please contact Sara Vaz for more information (svaz@csusm.edu).
