The College of Business Administration (CoBA) at CSU San Marcos offers Summer Workshops for high school students. The annual program offers students the chance to learn about a subject of their choice, in a real college setting, taught by expert instructors. The program is open to all and provides high school students with an understanding that a college education is available to everyone, including themselves.
The program has been held for 3 summers now and approximately 400 students have completed the workshops. The program started with 2 subjects in Summer 2023, Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship. Given its success, the workshops expanded in summer 2024 to include 2 additional workshops on Supply Chain Management and AI / Cybersecurity in Business. In summer 2025, enrollment in the 4 workshops was the largest yet. In addition, CoBA will expand to a 5th workshop that includes accounting material to be held in July 2025, in partnership with the National Association of Black Accountants. The pilot residential program is open to all and is on target to host nearly 30 students from across San Diego County.
