Employee of the Month
Employee of the Month winners are nominated by professional staff and their peers at the University Student Union for their exemplary service and voted on by a committee composed of Student Building Leads on a monthly basis.
Bret
Bret stands out for his exceptional work ethic and positive attitude. He鈥檚 always proactive, asking what tasks he can complete next, and keeping operations running smoothly. His attention to detail and willingness to learn make him a valuable team member. Bret also shows strong leadership potential by supporting colleagues, answering questions, and fostering a collaborative work environment. We鈥檙e proud to recognize Bret for his dedication and contributions to the USU!
Kaylee
Aracely
Aracely consistently demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit that makes her an invaluable member of our team. She takes great pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in the USU and is always willing to step in to support her peers, whether by covering shifts, assisting with tasks, or problem solving and fixing an issue. Her communication skills are strong, and she regularly goes above and beyond expectations. Aracely has shown tremendous initiative by stepping into unfamiliar situations with confidence and a willingness to learn. She has cross-trained in multiple roles, developed new skills, and even represented the USU by tabling and engaging with new students and families. Her leadership, adaptability, and commitment to the student experience make her highly deserving of this recognition.
Zachary
Zach is always the first one through the doors, arriving early to ensure everything is set up and he鈥檚 the last to leave鈥攖idying up, checking in with others, and making sure no one needs a hand before he heads out. Whether welcoming a first-time visitor to the Activity Center or reconnecting with a longtime regular, he greets everyone with warmth and genuine enthusiasm. His energy, kindness, and commitment to building community elevate the entire atmosphere鈥攁nd we鈥檙e incredibly lucky to have him on our team!
Lamar
Lamar deserves to be recognized as Employee of the Month because of his outstanding commitment to his job. He consistently provides excellent customer service while also keeping the USU clean and well-maintained. Lamar is kind, always ensures his tasks are completed, and goes above and beyond by helping out the next shift. He also offers to assist with event setups and is always looking for ways to help in any way he can.
Gabriel
Gabe is very helpful and knowledgeable and always makes sure each event or set up goes according to plan. He is really good at adapting on the fly when there is a change of plans and knows just how to find the right solution to any problem. We are so thankful to have him as part of our USU AVIT team!
Livia
Liv deserves to be recognized as Employee of the Month because of the unwavering tenacity she demonstrates when she is on shift. She is truly a hard working member of the USU team and she is very well rounded in her ability to execute each task to perfection. Liv is a magnet for attracting good energy and when her coworkers see her on the schedule, they know they are going to have a good work day. She also demonstrates high quality leadership skills and has handled several challenges that have come her way while on shift. Thank you for all you do for the USU, Liv!
Quill
Quill treats every single shift like a VIP is going to walk in the building. She is attentive,
responsible, and hard-working. She has great communication with her supervisor and
her coworkers. Some of our newest team members have shared how helpful she has been
in making them feel comfortable and getting them trained to do their job well. Quill is known for having a positive attitude and is always ready to jump in and help wherever
she is needed. She is a great example for our new hires and a great representation
of the USU
Shelby
Shelby is passionate about bringing her visions to life at USU Live events and it shows through each detail and consideration she has for students and her team. You can always count on her for amazing advice, ideas, and support or when you just need a good pep talk before an event. She's an important part of what makes USU Live a welcoming atmosphere. From Casino Night to USU Roundup, we have loved watching Shelby get excited about creating new spaces for students and she does it extraordinarily well. We are so lucky to have her as part of our team!
Axel
Axel joined our USU Operations team this past fall and he has been such a great addition! His hard work, dedication, and positive energy make a huge impact on our team every day. Axel constantly has a smile on his face and is always an incredible person to be around. His enthusiasm and commitment to his work here at the USU truly make a difference. He goes above and beyond in ensuring event set-ups are done correctly and is always taking initiative to make sure the building is clean. Thank you for all you do at the USU, Axel!
Robert
Robert has been such a helpful person when it comes to cleaning, helping set up, and being willing to cover shifts when possible. He does an amazing job in both his Operations and Info Desk roles. He has worked both shifts in one day, has picked up shifts that required large event set-ups, and you can always see him keeping busy at the Info Desk and around the fourth floor. He always has such an amazing attitude which is really able to brighten up your day!
Ryo
Ryo has gone above and beyond since day 1! He is extremely on top of cleaning tasks, provides quality customer service, and is very respectful of coordinators, leads, and professional staff. He is a strong communicator and has helped the new hires onboard. He goes out of his way to keep the building looking great. He is also always eager and willing to help when he can and it is very appreciated!
