MANAGEMENT
The Administrative Building is the oldest structure on our campus, and in 2018–19, ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø received funding from the Chancellor’s Office to modernize its infrastructure. The project will upgrade the building’s aging heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve comfort and energy efficiency while extending the facility’s lifespan. Although originally scheduled earlier, the project faced delays due to the pandemic and other unforeseen challenges. We’re pleased to announce that construction is now set to begin this spring.
Construction will take place in multiple phases throughout the spring and summer. Each phase has been carefully planned to minimize disruption while allowing for the safe and efficient completion of the project. Key dates and milestones are outlined below to help you stay informed and prepared.
No air conditioning, with airflow; building is still occupiable as comfort allows. Air conditioning will be unavailable from May 19 through Aug. 15; however, outside air circulation will remain operational until June 30, which allows the building to be occupied as comfort allows.
No air conditioning, airflow restored; building is occupiable as comfort allows. Air conditioning will be unavailable from May 19 through Aug. 15. However, outside air circulation will be operational again beginning Aug. 1, which allows the building to be occupied as comfort allows.
As part of the HVAC Renewal Construction in the Administrative Building, several offices will be temporarily relocated from June 30 to August 1. This move is necessary to support the safe and efficient completion of the project. In consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, Planning, Design & Construction, Campus Operations, and Human Resources we ensured this approach was both practical and supportive of staff needs. Our priority during this transition is to maintain continuity of operations while being mindful of comfort and well-being. We remain committed to serving our students, staff, and faculty with minimal disruption throughout this period.
