How to Apply as a Transfer to the TBSN
A Transfer applicant is a prospective student who has taken college courses after
the summer following their high school graduation. In order to apply to the TBSN you
must be a new student to ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø (i.e. you may not apply to the TBSN as a current ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø student).
Step One: Between October 1st – November 30th, 2025 
- Review the minimum Transfer applicant eligibility requirements for the TBSN to make sure you are fully qualified for the program. Also review the
Supplemental Admission (Impaction) Criteria used to evaluate and rank applicants to the TBSN.
- Submit an application along with the $70 application fee to ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø through .  Choose the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN) as the major you want
to apply to. You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been
submitted. Please refer to the ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø Office of Admissions Transfer Student application process for all requirements and deadlines associated with being admitted to the University.
- There is NO SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION for admission to the TBSN. Your Cal State Apply application will be used to identify
that you want to be considered for admission to the TBSN.
Step Two: No later than February 15th, 2026
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- Submit official test scores (if needed for admission) from AP (Advanced Placement) exams, IB (International
Baccalaureate) exams, or CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exams. ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø's submission code is 005677
±¬ÁÏÉçÇø requires electronic transcripts from the colleges/universities listed on the
Send Transcripts page. Electronic transcripts can be provided through external or third party vendors
(Credential Solutions, eTranscriptCA, National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, etc.).
When ordering your transcript, please choose California State University San Marcos as the intended recipient from the school name dropdown. If California State University
San Marcos is not listed, please use transcripts@csusm.edu as the recipient email address.
For schools that do not supply electronic transcripts and must be sent by mail, please
ensure the transcript is in an envelope sealed by your school and addressed to:

Step Three: Complete and Submit no later than March 15th, 2026
The following items must be completed and submitted no later that March 15th, 2026. You will receive an email at the end of February, 2026 detailing the process for submitting these documents.
- TEAS (required)
- Submit official scores to the College of Education, Health & Human Services (CEHHS) College Services
office.
- Work Experience (optional)
- Intermediate Proficiency in Language Other than English (optional)
What happens after I apply?
- After November 30th, 2025, your Cal State Apply application will be used to identify your desire to be considered
for admission to the TBSN. Please refer to the ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø Office of Admissions Transfer Student application process for all requirements and deadlines associated with being admitted to the University.
- Admissions applications to the TBSN are coordinated by CEHHS Student Services and evaluated using the Supplemental Admission (Impaction) Criteria. Applicants are rank ordered by the number of points earned.
- By March 3rd, 2026 preliminarily qualified applicants will be contacted via email about the process for
submitting the documents contained with step three (see above).
- Admission offers to the TBSN will be sent beginning April 1st, 2026. To accept your offer of admission you must submit your ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø Intent to Enroll by May 1st, 2026.
- If you are not offered admission to the TBSN you may choose an alternate major at ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø. Please
contact the ±¬ÁÏÉçÇø Office of Admissions for further information.
- Final Official Transcripts, verifying Spring 2026 coursework, must be submitted by
July 1st, 2026. For information on submitting your transcripts, please see step two (see above.)
