WELCOME Liberal Studies Students!

The Liberal Studies major is different than all the other majors at 爆料社区. It prepares students for a career in elementary or middle school teaching (grades K-8) as well as special education. It includes all general education and breadth of study requirements and an area of focus module that explores one of these subject matter areas in greater depth, or Bilingual Spanish. Coursework is selected to address the seven core subject matter areas of the K-8 curriculum:

Latest News 

Due to recently-clarified federal financial aid regulations, the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) has been discontinued, and we are therefore not accepting any new ITEP students.

CHANGE TO MUSC 250 Requirement for current LBST students

For current LBST students, the MUSC 250 requirement has been changed to MUSC 350.  If you have already taken MUSC 250, you do not need to take MUSC 350.  If you still see MUSC 250 in your degree planner, you will take MUSC 350 to meet the requirment.  

Academic Requirements Report (ARR) Issues for LBST students

The courses listed below can meet one of several requirements for the LBST major. Even if you select one of these classes from your Degree Planner to meet a specific requirement, the ARR may incorrectly assign it to a different requirement and thus may not accurately reflect the requirement that you intended for the course to meet. It is imperative that you pay close attention to your ARR, the Approved Course Lists (ACLs) and the catalog restrictions on double-counting courses. If your ARR shows that a course meets a requirement other than what you intended, please fill out an ARR Correction Form or contact your Academic Advisor to have your ARR adjusted.
