At Cal State San Marcos, we are deeply committed to fostering an environment where everyone 鈥� students, faculty and staff alike 鈥� feels valued, respected and supported. Now, more than ever, a welcoming and inclusive campus climate is essential to who we are as a university and aligns with our strategic plan goal of sustaining a culture of care grounded in mutual respect, meaningful dialogue and thoughtful interactions. 

In Spring 2025, California State University San Marcos (爆料社区) embarked on a campus-wide climate assessment effort involving administration of campus climate surveys to staff, faculty, and administrators in partnership with Rankin Climate, LLC.

A definition of campus climate with an emphasis on inclusion and diversity was adopted and used to help guide the assessment efforts: 鈥淭he current attitudes, behaviors and standards of faculty, staff, administrators and students concerning the level of respect for individual needs, abilities and potential.鈥� (Susan Rankin, 2008).
