Welcome to the Fall 2025 semester!

Cal State San Marcos has earned the 2025-2026 Military Friendly® School designation, receiving a Gold Award for its exemplary work on behalf of military-connected students and their families.

�� is home to 484 student veterans; the highest percentage per capita of any California State University. In total we serve over 1,800 military-connected students, which is 11% of our campus population

Cal Vet Fee Waiver

Please note: If you are taking a Credit/ No Credit course, the student is responsible for notifying the Veterans Center of a passing grade at the end of the semester.

Tuition Assistance (TA) Enrollment Policy

Per Department of Defense policy, eligible Service members must receive approval from an Educational Services Officer (ESO), military counselor, or their Service branch prior to enrolling in courses using Tuition Assistance (TA).

Certifications

Using your VA Education Benefits -- All Veterans Affairs education benefits are processed by Veteran Services staff in Cougar Central. There are separate requirements for students using VA benefits.

Veterans to Naval Careers

At Veterans to Naval Careers (VNC), we've found that paid internships coupled with one-on-one mentorship and professional development, using a whole-person, strengths-based approach is the key to guiding veterans to sustainable careers.

Epstein Family Veterans Center

Featuring office spaces, student work area, kitchen, lounge and event space, the Epstein Family Veterans Center is a place where military-connected students can receive support in achieving their academic and career goals with services tailored to their unique needs.
