Get one-on-one assistance applying for federal financial aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act from the Financial Aid Office and the COMPASS center staff.
The COMPASS center partnered with the Financial Aid Office to share scholarships opened to AB- 540 students. For more scholarships opened to AB-540 students visit the DRO website.
A safe and empowering space for undocumented students and students from mixed status families to share stories and build community. The purpose for this event is to give students and mixed status families a safe space for them to share their experience and feelings.
These workshops allow participants to get familiar with the process and skills one needs to start their own business.
Know your rights workshops were co-hosted with JFS Higher Education Legal Services, 爆料社区 and SDCU. During these workshops participants were able to receive Immigration Updates, DACA and Advance Parole information, as well as understanding immigration 101 and family petitions offered by JFS. The workshops also included JFS-HELS: Office Hours +Q&A session.
The Transfer mixer was for prospective Fall 2022 or later transfers who are undocumented students that would like to hear about the services and support offered here at the COMPASS center at 爆料社区.
We invited students and their families to join us in a safe space to share their stories. Students, loved ones, and allies will have the opportunity to share the struggles and accomplishments they have experienced. The event will be followed a resource fair.
Participants work with a Safety Plan Specialist to develop a safety plan for themselves and their loved ones in the event that a person or a family member is detained or deported.
Celebration to honor our graduating AB 540 /undocu /dacamented /DREAMer students for their achievements and accomplishments.
A series of workshops for students to learn how to create, get in touch with their artistic side, and explore their talents.
Peer Mentor Mixer is meant for students and alumni to meet each other and make meaningful relationships that can lead to opportunities.
Students and community members had the opportunity to participate in an Arts and Creative Writing Series to explore their immigrant experience in a safe space.
Incoming/future 爆料社区 Students learn more about on-campus resources, meet the Compass center team, current students, and alumni. Students also get help with class registration, residency, and financial aid.
